TRI-CITY AREA — The Foster Oilers 17U softball squad, which counts Imlay City’s Lexa Forti and Chloe Bruman among their ranks, registered a first-place showing at the 2024 Summer Slam Tournament in Armada recently.

The team began their title-producing path Saturday, June 22 with a 14-6 win against Armada Fastpitch,

Later that day they posted an 8-1 victory over Lapeer Lightning Walton/Jarvis 18U and registered an 11-2 triumph against Lapeer Lightning 16U McKellar, ending pool play as owners of a 3-0 mark.

Foster Oilers then opened bracket action with a 6-5 win over Angels Fastpitch-Kielman on Sunday, June 23.

The team then followed it up with a 15-1 victory over Armada Fastpitch HS and a 9-1 triumph over Armada Fastpitch 13U, assuring themselves of a top tournament finish.

Tori Nugent (Grosse Pointe), Abriana Belanger (Port Huron), Jade Blanchard (Marine City), Izzy Trombly (Port Huron), Jordyn Fiedler (Port Huron), Kalista Negrin (Marysville), Cameron McDonald (Chesterfield), Morgan Greenwald (Rochester) and Emmi Hildreth (Richmond) joined Forti and Bruman on the championship squad.
