Albert Leo Joseph Blanchette, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home. He was born November 1, 1935, in Windsor, Canada, the son of Romeo and Eugenie (Martin) Blanchette. He enlisted in the United State Air Force and was honorably discharged on December 26, 1962.

He enjoyed playing hockey since his youth and even played during his time in the Air Force. Albert married his beloved wife, Marilyn Joyce Coxon on September 19, 1959, at Our Lady of the Assumption in Windsor. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Allenton since the 90s. He and his late wife Marilyn loved their snowbird time in Davenport, FL over the past 30 years.

He is survived by his loving children, Romeo (Tori) Blanchette of Shelby Twp., Michaelle (Michael) Batory of Troy, Martin Blanchette of Florida, and Armand (Valerie) Blanchette of Houghton Lake; grandchildren, Falisadee (Jason) Torr of Clinton Twp., Jimmy Partridge of Rochester Hills, Romeo Blanchette, II of Gainsville, Fl., Deneen (Matthew) Ekness of Troy, Colin Partridge of Rochester Hills, Tristan (Lauren) Blanchette of Macomb, Kathleen (Kyle) Schelvan of Orlando, FL, Mandy (Mike) Burrus of Rochester, Abbey Blanchette of Atlanta, GA, Brooke Blanchette of Cincinnati, OH, Lydia Maggi of Royal Oak; and great-grandchildren Kamden Torr, Caleb Torr, Karlisle Ekness, Elliot Blanchette, Aurora Ekness and Rosalie Ekness. Also surviving, his siblings Loretta Welna of Burlington, Lee (Edward) Besse of Windsor, and Jeannette (Frank) Ostrogonac of Windsor.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Joyce and siblings Romeo Joseph Blanchette, Jacques Blanchette, Armand Blanchette, and Diane Antaya.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 3-8 p.m. at the Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, 2650 South VanDyke, Imlay City, MI 48444.

The Funeral Mass will be said on July 6, 2024. at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 872 Capac Road, Allenton, MI 48002.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations can be made in Albert’s name to Alzheimer Research.
