Sharon Budnick, age 81, of Imlay City, MI died Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Serene Gardens Assisted Living of Imlay City, MI. Sharon Sterling Gunter was born May 12, 1943, in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Rondall Gunter and the late Arlene ‘Amber’ (Crandall) Massie. Sharon grew up in Warren, MI and was a graduate of Centerline High School, Class of 1961. She attended Macomb Community College and worked at Saratoga Hospital in Detroit to earn her nursing degree. Sharon married Donald Frank Budnick on June 30, 1969, in Pontiac, MI. Sharon and Don moved to the Imlay City area in 1973.

She worked as a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, formerly St. Joseph West Hospital in Clinton Township. Sharon and her husband, Don ran the Pine-view Acres Adult Foster Care Home for 23 years out of their home in Attica Township. They cared for many individuals who were residents at their home over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Don Budnick; daughters, Toni (Steve Taylor) Tolpa of Imlay City, MI and Louise (Jay) Bright of Poquoson, VA; and son, David (Pamela) Budnick of Lake Orion, MI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian Tolpa, Zachary Tolpa, Benjamin Bianchini, Jamie Budnick, Eric Budnick, Taylor Laufenberger, and Jay Bright Jr.; and great – grandchildren Isabelle, Matthew, Zelda, Ezra and Grace. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Rondall Gunter; mother, Amber Massie; sons, Glenn Bianchini Jr. and Donald Budnick Jr.; son-in-law, Dale Tolpa; brother, Gene Cartier; and step father, Clarence “Pat” Massie.

The funeral services were held Friday, May 31, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Tom Blount of Heritage Church officiated. Interment followed at Dryden – Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
