Joan Loretta Botwin, just shy of her 93rd birthday passed away May 30, 2024, formerly of Warren and Attica resident for over 30 years. She was born June 1, 1931 the daughter of Harry and Stella Bruzdewicz in Hamtramck. She graduated from St. Lads High School. Joan married her beloved husband Richard J. Botwin on July 7, 1956, at Transfiguration Church in Detroit. She was an active member of St. Cornelious Catholic Church in Dryden. She enjoyed various crafts including knitting and crocheting and playing slots at the casino. She enjoyed watching the wildlife in her yard.

Joan was outgoing and known for her kindness and was loved by all. Most of all, her family was her true passion. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Joan will be missed by many.

She is survived by her beloved Richard, husband of 67 years; loving children Michael (Vicky) Botwin of California, Steve (Charlene) Botwin of Riley; son-in-law Mike Nichter; beloved grandchildren Christopher, Chad, Todd, Jonathan, David, Chelsea, Leigha, Andrew, and James; 9 loving great-grandchildren and one great- granddaughter on the way. Also surviving, brother-in-law Bob (Ruth) Botwin and sister-in-law Shirley Nanni.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Sue Nichter; brother Don Bruzdewicz; and brother-in-law Phil Botwin.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Cornelious Catholic Church.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Joan’s honor.
