Debra Deaton Riley, age 68, of Imlay City, MI died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at McLaren Macomb Hospital of Mt. Clemens, MI. Debra Lynn Deaton was born July 30, 1955, in Lapeer, MI. She is the daughter of the late Charles and the late Kathleen (Childers) Deaton. Debbie lived most all of her life in the Imlay City area. She was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1973. Debbie was an Imlay City High School cheerleader and actively involved in all aspects of high school life.

She was a clerk at Dean’s Drug Store in Imlay City during high school and worked as a bank teller at Imlay City State Bank for several years after high school. Debbie has courageously struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for most of her adult life. She enjoyed watching TV game shows and TV shows (especially Charmed, Supernatural & Friends), Detroit Lions football, movies, and doing sudoku and crossword puzzles.

Debbie is survived by her son, Michael (Lisa) Deaton of Imlay City, MI; brothers, Roger (Sharon) Deaton of Lapeer, MI and Shane (Kristina) Deaton of Brown City, MI. Debbie also has one grandson, Andrew Deaton, and a great-grandson, Ryan. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kathleen Deaton; and a brother, Charles Deaton.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
