Almont’s Ayden Ferqueron makes the catch in a game at home this spring.

ALMONT — Almont swept Port Huron High in a non-league varsity baseball doubleheader last Wednesday.

In the opener, Almont claimed a 5-4 win against Port Huron High.

Lucas Mantini paced Almont with a pair of singles. He was backed by Tyler Brown (a double) along with Jason Lane and Ayden Ferqueron (a single each).

Dalton Oliphant and Blake Lane shared the pitching chores for Almont. They allowed eight total hits, struck out six and walked four.

In the second contest, Almont notched a 14-4 victory over Port Huron High.

Austin Swain and Mantini (a single and a double apiece), Blake Lane and Brown (two singles each), Jason Lane (a double ) plus Luke Winkler, Zack Koval, Owen Rayl, Erik Haddon and Ferqueron (a single apiece) managed Almont’s hits.

Blake Lane and Mantini shared the pitching responsibilities for Almont. They gave up six total hits, struck out six and walked seven.
