Yvonne K. Knirs. 51, Mayville MI formerly of Lapeer and Lum, MI

Yvonne K. Knirs “Sissy” was born 7-14-1972 in Mount Clemens MI, to Bruce Knirs and Gail Yvonne (Englehart) Knirs. To the surprise of her 3 big brothers at home, they did not get a puppy! Instead, they got a Yvonne!

Taken from us too soon, Yvonne passed away on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at Fisher senior care & rehab center in Mayville, MI after a long battle with Lung Cancer. Escorted to Valhalla by the energy of the Auroa Borealis and by her Grandma Knirs.

She was a 1991 Graduate of Imlay City Adult Ed.

She married Phillip John Wedlake on 6-29-1996, in Imlay City, MI. Phillip stepped up and became the father of her young son Bruce Knirs II “J.B.” They divorced but Phillip remains J.B.’S dad.

Over the years Yvonne had many jobs, her most recent one as a bus driver for the Lapeer community schools.

Yvonne loved Horses, Cats, Dogs and Frogs. She wouldn’t even allow anyone to hurt worms! She loved watching movies, camping, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Yvonne will be missed dearly by the people who loved her. She is survived by her mother, Gail Knirs of Lum MI, her “Second Mom” Shirley Henry of Eden, N.C. Son Bruce Knirs II “J.B.” of Lum MI, 2 Brothers Daniel (James) Knirs, of Lapeer, MI. Ray A. Knirs (Kelly Taylor) of Stoneville, N.C. 2 sister in-Law Mandy Knirs of Stoneville, N.C. and Joann Woodruff of Capac, MI. A niece Aaron Lutch (Russell) of Brighton, MI. 2 Nephews Aaron Houston and Cody Wedlake. 4 Aunts, and many cousins. Fur babies Zeus, Aurora, Cerberus and companion, Shawn Redd.

She was proceeded in death by her Grandparents Anthony Edward Englehart and Dorothy Elizabeth (Shepherd) Englehart and Walter Martin Knirs and Ruth Ester Dorothy (Buckley) Knirs. Father Bruce Knirs. Brothers James Edward McAlpine and Walter Martin Knirs II. Brother-in-Law Gary E. Penny. Many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Fur baby Athena.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home, Columbiaville, Mi

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
