Paul Richard Thomas, age 78 of Lake, MI and formerly of Leonard, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 22, 1945, in Pontiac, Michigan the son of the late Richard & Dorothy (Hart) Thomas of Leonard. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1963. After high school he attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette. Paul started working at General Motors as a tool and die man for 30 years and retired in 1993. He met Fonda in 1982 and they were married February 3, 1984, in Almont. Paul liked waterskiing and being on the boat pulling his grandkids around on the tube.

Paul was a member of the Masonic Lodge, James A. Cliff Lodge #424. He was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, serving as Grand Chaplin from 2002-2012. He was appointed Grand Representative to Burkina Faso, West Africa in 2004. He was also a member Mount Pleasant Chapter #55, O.E.S. Together Paul and his late wife Fonda enjoyed country music dancing.

Paul is survived by his children Debra Edwards of Lapeer, Dianne Zeitler of North Branch and Anthony (Melissa) Thomas of Elk Lake, Ontario, Patrick (Linda) Thompson of Mesa, AZ, Clifford (Dayna) Thompson of Gallatin, TN; and by grandchildren, AJ, Kayla (Craig), Richard, Bryce, BJ, Lisa, Ali, Logan, Renee, Amy(Dave), Patrick, Christy, Amber, Brandon and Megan; great grandchildren Abby, Adam, Heather, Hunter, Jaxon, Alexis, Cody, Layla, Addison, Chandler, Avery, Cody, Alayna, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Logan, Jena, Jaxon, Kylie, Jaxten; great- great granddaughter Raelynn; and a very special and dear friend to Paul and Fonda Deanna Carl.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fonda of 40 years, his parents and brother Roger Thomas.

The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444.

A luncheon followed the service on Tuesday at the Imlay City Eagles, 170 S. Almont Avenue Imlay City, Michigan 48444. Burial was made at Lakeville Cemetery, 825 Drahner Rd., Leonard, MI 48367.
