Sandra Lee Grzyb, 72, of Capac, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Blue Water Hospice House. Born on July 15, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Burley) Hagerty.

Sandra’s life journey took her from Akron to San Diego, California, where she spent her formative years. It was there that she met the love of her life, John Grzyb, while he served in the Navy. Their union was blessed on March 26, 1971, and together they shared 52 beautiful years of marriage until John’s passing on October 11, 2023.

Family was Sandra’s greatest joy and priority. She found immense fulfillment in her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love and care knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with her beloved family.

Beyond her family life, Sandra had a passion for crafting. From sewing to quilting to crocheting, she poured her creativity into every piece she made. Her talent was undeniable, and she delighted in sharing her creations at various craft shows, where her work was admired by many.

Sandra is survived by her loving children, Kathy (Rob) Churchill, Nancy (Robert) Kaminski, and John (Gena) Grzyb; her adored grandchildren, Hilary (Jason), Courtney, Seth (Payton), Cory, Kaylee, Mary, Colton, Mason, and Robbie; her precious great-grandchildren, Hudson and Asher; and her dear siblings, Richard (Jennifer) and Carol.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her daughter, Christina June Grzyb; and her parents, Charles and Evelyn Hagerty.

The family extends an invitation to all who knew and loved Sandra to join them in celebrating her life. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors in Capac, with funeral services commencing at 7 p.m. Pastor Lisa Clark will officiate the ceremony. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Capac Cemetery, Mussey Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sandra’s honor to the Blue Water Hospice House in Marysville, Michigan.

Sandra will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those whose lives she touched.
