John “Dennis” Beemer, age 85, of Brown City, MI died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at United Hospice Residence of Marlette Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. John Dennis Beemer was born May 19, 1938, in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late Leroy and the late Margaret (McColl) Beemer. Dennis grew up in the Utica and Sterling Heights, MI areas. He attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and is a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1956. Dennis proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1957-1959. He married Donna Ryerson on September 14, 1963 in Warren, MI.

He was employed by Ford Motor Company – Sterling Axle Plant in Sterling Heights, where through the 48 years he worked there, he was on the Chip Drag Line, a Quality Control Inspector, worked in the Heat Treat Department and retired as a Hi-Low Driver. Dennis retired in 2004.

Dennis was a member of bowling leagues in Brown City, Almont, and Pampa’s Lanes in Warren, MI, bowling two 300 games. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, telling jokes, working on his cars and spending time with his dogs & cats.

He is survived by: his wife, Donna Beemer of Brown City, MI; daughter, Peggy (Rob) Smith of Attica, MI; and his sons, Patrick (Charla) Beemer of Davison, MI and Mitch (Carrie) Beemer of Brown City, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hannah, Bailey, Mikayla, Brandon, Kyra, Kale and Deklen.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Margaret Beemer; and his sisters, Beverly Fitzgerald and Mert Steinmetz.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Mark Willis, a family friend, will officiate. Interment will follow at Christian Memorial Gardens East in Peck, MI.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 & 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 9 and 10-11 am, Friday, May 10 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
