Bernadette Rose Biniek, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Richmond, MI, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 23, 1940, in Detroit, MI. Bernadette was the cherished daughter of the late Lawrence and Kathleen (Couch) Chircop.

She had a zest for life that was infectious to all who knew her. She found immense joy in visiting casinos and playing the slot machines, her favorite being the Buffalo Game. When not trying her luck at the casino, she could often be found at home, indulging in her favorite TV shows, particularly “Naked and Afraid” and any gripping crime drama or documentary.
Bernadette also had a notorious sweet tooth, and dessert was always the highlight of her day.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was a dedicated parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Allenton, MI, for over five decades. Bernadette’s commitment to her community extended to teaching catechism and was a very active member in the altar society.

Bernadette shared a remarkable bond with her husband, Theodore Biniek, whom she married on October 22, 1960. Their love endured for 54 beautiful years until Theodore’s passing in 2014. Together, they relished every moment, never spending a night apart and delighting in their shared passion for travel, particularly enjoying cruises.

Family was the cornerstone of Bernadette’s existence. She treasured the holidays, eagerly anticipating the gatherings that brought loved ones together to celebrate and create cherished memories.

Bernadette will be deeply missed by her children, Mary (Michael) Rilley, Theodore Biniek, Jeffrey (Therese) Biniek, and Kristy (Richard) Michaels; grandchildren, Michael (Kelsey) Rilley, Matthew (Victoria) Rilley, Justin (Erin) Biniek, Mark (Kristina) Rilley, Taylor (Blake) Biniek, Tyler Michaels, Joshua Biniek, Zachary Michaels, and Jacob Biniek; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Rilley, Everett Rilley, and Emersyn Hinman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Biniek; her parents, Lawrence and Kathleen Chircop; and her grandson, Adam Biniek.

A memorial service to celebrate Bernadette’s life will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 883 Capac Rd., Allenton, MI 48002.
