Imlay City’s Ginger Gottler focuses on a return in last week’s match with Almont.

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City handed Almont a 5-3 setback in a Blue Water Area Conference girls’ tennis encounter this past week.

In individual action, Emma Keeping earned a 6-1, 6-3 top flight win against Andrea Frederick; Hannah Sapp picked up a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Sidni Brinker at second singles; Alexa Lengemann registered a 6-1, 6-1 third flight triumph against Eva Rayl; Wren Dennis claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gabriella Ujkic at fourth singles.

As far as doubles play was concerned, Addison Cameron and Sarah Lauwers dropped a 7-5, 1-6, 1-6 top flight verdict to Natalie Frederick and Lauren Culver; Winter Muxlow and Julia Metter notched a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 victory against Rory Meeker and Madison Miodowski at second doubles; Morgan Vermeesch and Ginger Gottler fell by a 3-6, 2-6 third flight count to Camilla Gonzalez and Lexi Hawley; plus Andraya Schwanke and Addison Rottman dropped a 1-6, 7-6, 6-7 verdict to Veronica Luzinski and Gabriella McClymont at fourth doubles.
