Almont’s Lydia LaCavera looks to beat a throw to first base during a game Monday against Holly.

ALMONT — Almont swept visiting Holly in a non-league varsity softball doubleheader Monday.

With the decisions, Almont improves to 2-0 this season.

In the opener, Almont claimed a 13-4 win at Holly’s expense.

Lauren Webster (two singles, a double and a two-run homer) and Brooklyn Bunch (two singles and a triple) and Abby Geml (a single and a double) supplied Almont’s top plate credentials. They were given assistance in the hitting department by Gabby Carlson and Kylie Tennant (a double each) along with Lydia LaCavera (a single).

Abby Geml was Almont’s pitcher of reccord. She allowed eight hits, struck out 11 and walked one.

In the second contest, Almont pulled out a 10-9 victory over Holly.

Anna Debczak (a single and a double) along with Grace Stanton and Webster (two singles apiece), led Almont’s offensive attack. She was backed by Tennant, LaCavera and Geml.

LaCavera was the winning Almont pitcher. She gave up two hits over 4 1/3 innings and struck out three along the way.
