William “Duane” Schriber, age 90, of Attica, Michigan died Monday, March 18, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

William Duane Schriber was born August 12, 1933 in Goodland Township, MI. He is the son of the late Floyd and the late Lucille (Wilcox) Schriber. Duane grew up in Imlay City, MI. He is a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1951. He married Patricia Truax on August 31, 1985 at Lapeer, Michigan. Duane and Pat enjoyed the warmer weather and lived in Kentucky and Zephyrhills, Florida area before returning to St. Helen, Michigan in 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia.

He was employed as a Fabric Handler and Machine Operator by Ford Motor Company at the vinyl plant in Mt. Clemens, MI before retiring.

Duane was an avid bowler. Wherever there was a bowling alley, he was there. Duane was a member of Lovell’s Lefty’s Bowling team. He bowled at Cedar Lanes in Imlay City and Gerlach’s Bowling in Lapeer, MI. Duane won many bowling trophies and awards. At 83 years old, he was still bowling a 209. Duane also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Duane’s family would also like to Thank Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Julie, Laura, Alex, Chelsea, and Linda for their kind and compassionate care given to Duane over the last several months.

He is survived by: his sisters, Elizabeth Griffin, Muriel Keeley, and Regina Middleton; brothers, Carl “Jerry” (Jackie) Schriber, John Schriber (Dan Howey), Roger (Brenda) Schriber and Robert “Bob” Schriber; and several nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by: his wife, Patricia Schriber; parents, Floyd and Lucille Schriber; his brothers, Albert (Sally) Schriber and Andrew (Barbara) Schriber; sister, Katherine (Fred) Bissett; his sister-in-law, Sharon Schriber; and brother-in-law, Walter Griffin.

The family gathered for a visitation on Friday, March 22nd at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. A Graveside Service followed at Imlay Township Cemetery, 682 N. Fairgrounds Rd., Imlay City, MI. Jerry Schriber officiated.
