Dear Editor,

This week we are remembering the most important day in the history of the world!

He is risen! Jesus is risen indeed!

Easter/Resurrection Sunday is a time for Christians to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus!

The resurrection story can be found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the New Testament of the Bible.

Each author provides a unique perspective, but all the accounts, point to the same truth about Jesus.

They take us on a journey with Jesus and his last days in Jerusalem, his arrest, trial, and ultimate death. We can feel the heartache and sorrow of people who cared and loved Jesus deeply.

Why did He need to die? Because of disobedience and sin people were separated from God and God made a way for us to be united with Him again.

“Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, He was raised on the third day, and He appeared to Cephas, and then to the 12.

“After that He appeared to more than 500 at the same time, most of whom are still living” (1Corinthians 15:3-6).

“According to his great mercy, God has given new birth into a living hope to the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1Peter 1:3).

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John3:16).

When He has stepped out of the tomb it displayed the power that Jesus has over death, and the same power of His promise of eternal life, to all who believe in Him.

People witnessed the power and authority of God and it is such a reminder of the depths of God’s love for us, each one of us!

What peace we can find when we understand that Jesus made all things right. It wasn’t up to me or you, it fully rested on Jesus, our Lord and Savior!

“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us a life with Christ, even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4,5).

Without Jesus resurrection, we would not be able to have a direct relationship with God, nor hope for the future.

But we can have great joy and hope that physical death is not the end, and that through Jesus, we have the gift of eternal life.

We can strive to follow Jesus, and be more like Him, in love and truth, and bring glory to the One True God!

I hope that each one of us will grow in faith and deepening our understanding of the overwhelming love that God has for each one of us!

If you do not know that love yet, a good place to start would be to go to God’s Word in the Bible, go to a church this Sunday, talk to someone who understands God’s love and truth or you can also go to God Himself in prayer.

If you have been hurt in the past by religion, please know that Jesus was also hurt by religious people.

People who love God do not profess to be perfect, but are striving to know Jesus more, and to be more like Him on a daily basis.

When we truly understand what Jesus has done for us, and what he offers, we can only go forward in His great love and truth.

The good news of Jesus is life-changing and gives peace and joy and strength in the midst of hardships and trials.

We aren’t promised tomorrow, but the promises of God will be forever! Praying that you will receive God’s grace,

“Now is the time of God’s favor, today is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

In love,
