Mary Rodak, age 66, of Imlay City, MI died Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Mary Ilene Blaszczyk was born November 17, 1957, in Lapeer, MI. She is the daughter of the late Frank and the late Martina (Weingartz) Blaszczyk. Mary was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1976. She continued her education after high school at St. Clair Community College. Mary married Kazimierz Rodak on November 27, 1987, in Imlay City, Michigan.

She worked as a secretary for the Imlay City School District for 35 years before retiring in 2018. Mary was also employed by Dr. Cliff Clendenan for 10 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Allenton, MI, St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden, MI, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City, MI. Mary enjoyed going to the cabin up north, cooking, baking, and taking drives in the summertime with her husband, Kazimierz. She was a fan of watching cooking shows, hallmark movies, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, and the Detroit Tigers. Mary was also a big fan of Imlay City’s school sports and boosters.

Mary is survived by her husband, Kaz Rodak; sons, Andrew (Stephanie) Rodak of Hadley, MI and Benjamin (Jayna) Rodak of Roseville, MI; sisters, Linda Blaszczyk of Attica, MI and Bernice (Douglas) Schlaud of North Branch, MI; and brothers-in- law, Tadeusz (Barbara) Rodak and Antoni (Eva) Rodak, both of Poland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Monika Kraft, Anna Czarnik, Mateusz Rodak, Anita Rodak, Shawn Blaszczyk, Kristina Willis, Justin Schlaud, Jason Schlaud, Kim Bryce, and Aaron Blaszczyk; many cousins; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martina Blaszczyk; parents-in-law, Lucjan & Antonina Rodak; and her brother, Francis (Linda) Blaszczyk.

The funeral service was held Monday, March 18, 2024, at St. John The Evangelist Parish, 883 Capac Rd., Allenton, MI 48002. Reverend Fr. Mike Gawlowski officiated. A rosary was recited Sunday, March 17, 2024. Burial took place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Imlay City.
