CAPAC — Capac advanced one girl grappler to the upcoming individual state finals March 1-2 at Ford Field in Detroit.

She earned the right to test her mat skills there with a top-four weight class finish last Sunday at an individual wrestling regional hosted by Howell High School.

Cierra Helzer earned the right to represent Capac at the state finals, securing a third. Helzer closed out a successful day on the mats when she pinned 110-pound weight class counterpart Kaia Spiess, who hails from Ovid-Elsie, with 4:51 gone.
