BOARD MEETING SYNOPSIS
February 12, 2024
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Supervisor Winn. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Members present: Parks, Klos, Winn, Christian & Wittstock. January minutes approved. Treasurer’s report approved. Fire report: 15 runs last month, approved to purchase CPR assist machine, ISO rating being worked on and bids will be taken on replacement of fire hall roof. Planning Commission: one split approved and landscape business on Capac Road given permission to move forward with deli stand. Senior report: regular activities attended and upcoming: Potluck on 2/20 and Bingo on 3/4 (noon); exercise is every Monday at 11 a.m. and cards is every Tuesday at noon. Park report: Easter Egg Hunt will be 3/24 (2 p.m.)- monies approved to buy supplies. Discussed: 123NET approved to look into using right-of-way for cables and donate to Metro Act Monies benefitting the township, franchise agreement will be signed to allow Comcast to look into serving Berlin Township residents, Resolution 2024-03 (Support for Citizens to have Choice in Renewable Energy Initiatives by Repealing Part 8, as added, by Public Act 233 of 2023) approved, Kurt Sengstock hired as Ordinance Enforcement Officer, David Hartway will be paid what we found that we owe him, election workers approved for 2/27 election. Audience: mention that all long gun sales must go thru Sheriff’s office starting tomorrow (even to family or friends) and Supervisor Winn will look into having missing guardrail replaced on Capac Road.
