TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City obtained a 44-18 victory over visiting Almont in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball meeting last Friday night.

With the outcome, Imlay City goes to 9-7 and 5-4. Almont falls to 4-12 and 2-8.

In Friday’s meeting, Imlay City bolted out to a 13-3 advantage after one quarter was over and widened the gap to 25-11 at the halftime break.

When the action resumed. Imlay City struck with a 10-4 third quarter edge. That left them ahead 35-15 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then outscored Almont 9-3 the rest of the way, assuring themselves of a 44-18 victory at night’s end.

Alexis Bruyere (17 points), Brie Hund (12) and Lexa Forti (10) led Imlay City with double digit point totals. Addison Cameron (four points) supported their performances.

Lydia LaCavera (five point, including a trifecta) paced Almont that evening. The Raiders also had Jesse Kautz (a trey), Ava Panduren (three), Allison Williams, Brandi Zimmer and Madison Miodowski (two points apiece) along with Lauren Webster (one) reach the scoring column.
