ALMONT — The annual bowling fundraiser for former Imlay City Police Officer Kevin Homer is slated for Friday, February 23. Organizers say the bowling will get underway around 7 p.m. at Hideaway Lanes on Howland Rd. in Almont. Officer Homer passed in 2016, after serving 17 years as a member of law enforcement. After his passing, family members started a scholarship foundation in honor of his dedication. Each year through the foundation, $1,000 scholarships are given to graduating seniors and post graduates to help them fulfill a dream of pursuing a career in law enforcement and/or public safety. Officer Homer was an avid fan of bowling, and family members thought there was no better way to honor his memory than with the bowling fundraiser. Organizers are looking for people and businesses to help sponsor the event and are also collecting donations. For more information on the event, you can call 810-721-7500.
