Almont’s Manny Goldstein looks to score during his team’s BWAC clash with Yale this past week.

ALMONT — Almont sent visiting Yale down to a 62-58 defeat in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball confrontation on Tuesday, January 16.

With the outcome, Almont moves to 8-3 and 3-1. Yale slips to 9-2 and 3-1.

In Tuesday’s confrontation, Almont spotted Yale an 11-8 edge after one quarter was over with.

The next quarter saw Almont generate 23 points and Yale manage 11, leaving the former up 31-22 at the half.

When the action resumed, Yale struck with a 12-10 third quarter edge. That trimmed their deficit to 41-34 at the time.

Yale then put together a 24-21 final quarter rally, only to drop a 62-58 verdict.

Jason Lane (18 points, including a trifecta) paced Almont’s scoring attack. He was backed by Chase Davedowski (12 points, featuring four treys), Marko Radisavljevic (11), Owen Rayl (10, with a triple), Isaiah Bankston (seven), Jerry Schurig (three) and Cam Bourdeau (one).
