David Patrick Harrand, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully in Attica, MI, on January 20, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on February 21, 1941, in Royal Oak, MI, David’s life was marked by his warm humor, adventurous spirit, and remarkable handiness.

David was the cherished husband of Wanda, his partner in life for 62 remarkable years. Together, they built a family founded on love, laughter, and shared adventures. He was a devoted father to three daughters, Cynthia Scott, Linda Wright, and Brenda (Kirk) Lentz. His wisdom and playful spirit will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Dennis Harrand. His legacy continues through his four adoring grandchildren and six great grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Aloysius and Lucille Harrand; his brother Patrick Harrand; and his son-in-law, Mike Wright. David’s family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones who passed before him.

A proud employee of the Ford Motor Company, David spent many years as a test driver before retiring in 2001. His career at Ford was more than just a job; it was an extension of his passion for cars and a community where he formed lasting friendships. His colleagues remember him not only for his skillful driving but also for his ability to bring laughter to any situation.

David’s interests were as vast as the Michigan landscapes he loved to explore. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace in the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the chase. His love for horses was evident to all who knew him, as was his joy in working on cars. A true jack-of-all-trades, David could often be found in his garage or garden, where he spent countless hours growing both plants and friendships.

As we say goodbye to David, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with joy, laughter, and endless love. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the North Star guides travelers on their journey home. David Patrick Harrand’s story does not end here; it lives on in the memories we cherish and the love that will never fade.

Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home-Columbiaville.
