Thomas Robert Schiller, age 73, a lifetime resident of Lapeer County, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2024. Tom was born in Almont on January 15, 1950, to Walter & Florence Schiller. He graduated from Imlay City High School in 1968. Tom was a highly skilled carpenter. He was a project manager, in charge of overseeing, designing, and building visual display surfaces for educational purposes in school districts all over Michigan.

Tom enjoyed traveling and spending time on the Gulf Coast in Florida. He was an avid small game hunter, specifically pheasant, and a year round fisherman. He loved watching and attending football games at all levels, high school, college, and professional. Tom was a family man who rarely missed a child or grandchild’s sporting event or dance recital. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, jokester personality, and his infectious laugh. He will be deeply missed by his family members and friends.

Tom is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Schiller; children Stephanie (Keith) Wilson, Candee (Dennis DeKeyser) Bradow, Adam (Dawn) Schiller, and Rachel (Matt) Champine; grandchildren Rochelle (Elvis) Tudor, Ariel (Nilo Bernier) Tidrick, Ashleigh (Aura Christensen) Wilson, Kamara (Jesus Cruz) Champine, Kollin Diaz, Alyson Champine, Michael Champine, Anna Champine, Carter Tidrick, and Haven Tidrick; great-grandchildren Malcom, Aria, and Jesus Jr.; brother James (Nancy) Schiller; also many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; first wife Lori Trott; son-in-law Matthew Bradow; granddaughter Megan Tidrick.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel in Lapeer.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 200 N. Cedar Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. Pastor Wesley Davis will officiate.

Tom will be laid to rest at Imlay Township Cemetery.
