Herman F. Marotz, age 84, of Lapeer County, MI formerly of Washington Twp., MI died Sunday, December 31, 2023, at his home. Herman Frederick Marotz was born February 22, 1939, in Washington Township, MI. He is the son of the late Herman Ernest Albert and the late Annabell (Johnson) Marotz. He grew up in Washington Township, MI. He was a graduate of Utica High School, Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army during the post Korean–early Vietnam War era from 1962 to 1964. He was stationed in South Korea during his time in the U.S. Army.

Herman married Jean Marie Walker on September 13, 1985, at Lapeer, MI.

Herman attended college courses at Oakland County Community College. He was employed by Pontiac Motors Div. of General Motors first in the Pontiac Foundry and later as a Journeyman Electrician. In retirement he worked for High Tech Mold in Rochester, MI and he worked as a handy-man for his neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Marotz; daughters, Tina (David) Marotz-Hill and Amanda (Michael) McKenney; sons, Herman J. (Donna Zenero) Marotz and Dainian Klauka; his sister, Edith Brinkey; and daughter-in-law, Candi Marotz. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler) Trevathan, Kaitlyn Geschke, Aaron (Abbie) Geschke, Michael Marotz, Kaylie Marotz, Chloe Klauka, Lincoln Klauka, Ann McKenney, and Kieran McKenney; great grandchildren, Lucas Trevathan, Ellenora Trevathan, Everett Geschke, Elowen Geschke, Lane Geschke, Silas Geschke; and several nieces and nephews.

Herman was preceded in death by his son, Paul Marotz; his parents Herman and Annabell Marotz; and his brothers, William Marotz and Edwin Marotz.

The funeral services and final veterans salute will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. The Reverend Ron Rouse of the Attica Methodist Church will be officiating. The family will be available for visiting hours from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
