Almont’s Cam Bourdeau splits a pair of Roscommon defenders in Friday’s game.

ALMONT — Almont picked up a 51-39 victory over Roscommon in a varsity boys’ basketball meeting last Friday afternoon at the SC4 Holiday Showcase in Port Huron.

In Friday’s meeting, Almont grabbed a 16-11 edge after one quarter had ended.

The next eight minutes of hoops saw Almont net 14 points as did Roscommon, leaving them up 30-25 at the halftime break.

When the action resumed, Almont struck with an 8-6 third quarter edge. That made it 38-31, Almont, with 24 minutes gone.

Almont then outscored Roscommon 13-8 the rest of the way, good for a 51-39 victory at game’s ended.

Owen Rayl (16, including a pair of trifectas) and Jason Lane (10, featuring a pair of treys) led Almont with double digit point totals. The Raiders also had Marko Radisavljevic (nine points), Cam Bourdeau and Chase Davedowski (a pair of triples each), along with Cole Walton and Chase Davedowski (two apiece) reach the scoring column.
