Robert Hill, Jr., age 74, of Lum, MI, died suddenly at home Sunday, December 17, 2023. Robert Hill, Jr. was born March 20, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, MI. He is the son of Robert and Jeanne (Gunn) Hill. He grew up in Utica, MI and attended Utica High School. Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He married his wife of 40 years, Diane Waun-McCullough. on June 25, 1983.

He was employed as a spot welder by the Chrysler Corporation at the Sterling Stamping Plant for 35 years before retiring in 2002.

Studebaker Bob, as he was affectionately known, was a car aficionado and a member of the Easy Rodder’s Car Club and would show his 1941 Hollywood Graham and 1928 Studebaker at various car shows. Bob spent many hours building his 1941 Hollywood and 1928 Studebaker himself.

He was an avid bow and gun hunter and enjoyed fishing. In 1990, Robert shot a record black bear in Canada with his bow and arrow at 9 yards earning him a record in the Pope & Young Club.

The family would like to send a special thank you to their friend and neighbor, John Steeley, as well as the Lapeer County EMS, Medstar EMS, police, and sheriff & Victims Service Unit for their kindness and being there for them in their time of need.

Robert is survived by his wife, Diane Hill of Attica, MI; his daughter, Marcia (Jeffrey) Kohlmann of Shelby Township, MI; brother, Clifford (Joyce) Hill of Harrison Twp., MI; his grandchildren, Ryan Kohlmann and Jordan Kohlmann; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeanne Hill; and his sisters, Delores Ogryzek and Barbara Hill.

A Memorial Service is being held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Goodland Community Church, 2008 N. Van Dyke Road, Imlay City, MI.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
