Dryden’s Keira Miller looks to score Friday versus Merritt Academy.

DRYDEN — Dryden trounced visiting Merritt Academy, 51-10, in a non-league varsity girls’ basketball game last Friday night.

With the outcome, Dryden moves to 3-2 this season.

In Friday’s game, Dryden bolted out to a 21-1 advantage after one quarter was complete and widened the gap to 32-5 at halftime.

When the action resumed, Dryden continued to pull away. Aided by a 14-3 third quarter edge, the Cardinals increased their cushion to 46-8 with 24 minutes gone.

Dryden then outscored Merritt Academy 5-2 the rest of the way, putting the finishing touches on a 51-10 win.

Trenna Bowman (13) and Keira Miller (12) supplied the top Dryden point totals. They were backed by Sophia Peter (seven points), Olivia Reynolds and Kierstyn Stankevich (four each), Dakota Deel (three) and Isabella Weier (two).
