IMLAY CITY — Zander Nash (31) and Matt Evans (13) combined for 44 points as Imlay City made visiting Pontiac Academy of Excellence absorb a 74-39 loss in a varsity boys’ basketball meeting last Wednesday.

With the outcome, Imlay City goes to 4-0. Pontiac Academy of Excellence slips to 1-1.

In Wednesday’s meeting, Imlay City used a 40-22 opening half advantage and a 34-17 second half edge to prevail.

Imlay City had 10 other players reach the scoring column. Their ranks consisted of Isaac Sommer (nine points), Jack Siegler (six), Quintin Ramirez, Andrew Cezik, Micah Wampler, Trystyn Whiting, Brady Detwiler, Boston Bock and Clayton Penzien (two each) along with Michael Craven (one).
