Mary Ellen Kaiser, age 80, of Imlay City, Michigan, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Mary Ellen Tasket was born February 25, 1943, in Lansing, MI. She is the daughter of the late Harold and the late Louise (Riley) Tasket. Mary Ellen grew up in Perry, MI. She is a graduate of Perry High School, Class of 1961. After high school, Mary Ellen attended Lansing Business University for two years. She married John “Dave” Kaiser on January 19, 1963, in Coloma, MI.

She was a home maker, raising her beloved family. Mary Ellen traveled around the country with her husband Dave while he was employed by General Motors. Mary Ellen loved her Lord Jesus and her church families. She was a Sunday School teacher in all of the churches that she and Dave attended as they moved around the country. Before moving to the Imlay City area seven years ago, Mary Ellen and Dave lived on Torch River (in upper-lower Michigan) for 18 years. Mary Ellen was a Master Gardener and loved to take care of her flower gardens. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Mary Ellen was a counselor for Lapeer Pregnancy Center in Lapeer, MI.

Mary Ellen is survived by: her husband, Dave Kaiser; daughters, Debra (Richard) Farkas of Imlay City, MI, Rebecca (Richard) Coppersmith of Hadley, MI and Susan Stephens of Imlay City, MI; her grandchildren, Amanda Elwart, Brandon Farkas, Collin Coppersmith, Cody Coppersmith, Victoria Patterson and Chad Klaas; and her great – grandchildren Hayden, Hunter, Parker, Ellory and Ava.

A memorial service and celebration of life is being planned for next summer.

Funeral arrangements for Mary Ellen have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
