Irene Doutry, 94, of Capac, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Sage Creek Senior Living Center, Riley Township.

She was born May 12, 1929, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Morris and Zulma (Cruycke) Vinckier.

Her marriage to Peter V. Doutry was July 21, 1951, in Yale. Peter passed away February 7, 1993.

Irene loved her home in Hale, Michigan on Au Sable Lake, there she enjoyed bird watching, being on the water and going for pontoon boat rides. She mostly enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One thing she really loved to do was play cards. Irene had many nicknames given to her over the years, some of them were Queeny, Reney Beany, Molly and the Grand Dutchess.

Surviving are her six children, John (Mavis) Wiitanen, Christine Ellis, Bob (Patty) Doutry, Cathy (Jack) Meikle, Mike (Lynn) Doutry, and Pete (Robin) Doutry; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (Don) McConnell, and Carol (Bob) Zgnilec; brother, Mick (Emily) Vinckier; and sister-in-law, Ann Vinckier.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tom Ellis; sister, Alida Bigham, and two brothers, Morris and Robert Vinckier.

The family honors the memory of Irene and invites you to visit and share memories, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s The Evangelist Catholic Church, 883 Capac Road, Allenton, Michigan 48002.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac.

Memorials are suggested to Sage Creek Senior Living Center.
