IMLAY CITY — Imlay City registered a 69-31 triumph against visiting Genesee in a non-league varsity boys’ basketball encounter last Friday night.

With the outcome, Imlay City moves to 2-0 overall. Genesee drops to 0-1 this season.

In Friday’s encounter, Imlay City jumped out to an 18-10 advantage after one quarter was done and increased their cushion to 46-17 when halftime arrived.

Imlay City then outscored Genesee 23-14 from that point on, finishing with a 69-31 triumph.

For Imlay City, Zander Nash (27) and Landon Jones (13) led the way with double digit point outputs. The Spartans also had Matt Evans (six points), Isaac Sommer (five), Jack Siegler, Brady Detwiler and Tristan Whiting (four each) along with Micah Wampler, Quintin Ramirez and Andrew Cezik (two apiece) reach the scoring column.
