Almont’s Manny Goldstein protects the ball from an Atherton foe in a non-league boys’ basketball contest last Friday night.

ALMONT — Almont picked up a 63-26 road victory over Atherton in a non-league varsity boys’ basketball game last Friday night.

With the result, Almont raises their mark to 2-0 overall.

In Friday’s game, Almont took a 23-14 advantage after one quarter was complete and increased their cushion to 38-18 at halftime.

Almont then outscored Atherton 25-8 the rest of the way, closing out a 63-26 win.

Jerry Schurig (15 points, including a trifecta) and Marko Radisavljevic (11, featuring a trey) led Almont that evening. Their performances were backed by Owen Rayl (eight points, with a triple), Chase Davedowski (five, including a trifecta), Manny Goldstein (five), Isaiah Bankston and Blake Lane (four each), Cole Walton and Cam Bourdeau (a trey apiece), Brandon Phillips (three) and Jason Lane (two).
