IMLAY CITY — Imlay City’s Jeff Weingartz officiated the Division 2 high school state title game between Muskegon and Warren De La Salle last Saturday evening.

Detroit’s Ford Field is where the contest unfolded.

In Saturday’s matchup, Muskegon and Warren De La Salle ended the opening quarter with seven points apiece.

Quarter two saw Warren De La Salle amass 14 points and Muskegon manage none, staking themselves to a 21-7 halftime edge.

When the action resumed, Muskegon struck with a 20-0 third quarter advantage to go ahead 27-21.

They then outscored De La Salle 6-0 the rest of the way, good for a 33-21 triumph at game’s end.

It was the first football state title game for Weingartz, a 46-year veteran official.
