Supporters asked to donate during the holidays
LAPEER COUNTY — The Lapeer County Community Foundation serves as Lapeer County’s local partner for advice, leadership and facilitation of charitable giving.
For over 27 years, the Foundation has invested in local organizations and has helped donors achieve their charitable goals.
The organization supports projects that make Lapeer County exceptional, and as they look to the future, they are excited to pursue new ways to help build a stronger Lapeer County for all who live here.
A strong Foundation allows them to be flexible, adaptable and grow with an ever-changing community.
Opportunities present themselves, and growing challenges are identified.
One challenge that has increasingly presented itself is the amount of Lapeer County residents affected by lack of access to healthy and available food.
The struggling economy and escalating food costs have intensified hunger in the county, leaving many families and individuals grappling with empty cupboards amid financial challenges.
More families are living paycheck to paycheck with the rising cost of living, and local food pantries and soup kitchens are unable to keep up with the demands of Lapeer County residents in need.
In the last year alone, LCCF has provided over $16,000 in funding for protein purchases and other basic food staples to local pantries.
A permanent source of capital is needed and as a result, LCCF has established the Feeding Lapeer County Fund.
Organizers say they are fortunate to have the opportunity to provide a 1:1 match for contributions to this fund during our #Giving Tuesday campaign.
GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE
Each year at Thanksgiving time and the week following, a day for giving thanks, two days for getting deals and a nationally and globally recognized day for giving back is known as #Giving Tuesday.
LCCF invites everyone to “give where you live” for the benefit of our local nonprofits that do such important work in Lapeer County and for the future dreams of our students.
Lapeer County Community Foundation gives this nationally recognized annual giving campaign a special local twist.
Make a gift during the 2023 #GivingTuesday Campaign and your dollars will go further. The group has a flyer that outlines the impact your gift will have in addressing hunger, along with community grants and local scholarships totaling $50,000.
Every gift counts. When you make a gift to one of the 86 Foundation funds, you join your neighbors in supporting a broad range of resources available to area residents.
LCCF staff encourages your family and friends to donate and the award opportunities grow.
Your involvement is key, and they truly appreciate your help in making their good work possible.
GIVING TUESDAY OPEN HOUSE
Board members and LCCF staff will be hosting an open house on November 28 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

LCCF wishes to thank you for being a part of a rich history of giving in Lapeer County. Together, we give today to have an impact tomorrow.
