Frederick “Fred” Ragatz, age 69, of Imlay City, Michigan, died Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital of Lapeer, MI. Fredrick Lee Ragatz was born September 25, 1954. He is the son of Lloyd and the late Beatrice (Hill) Ragatz-Louwsma. He grew up and attended school in Imlay City. He married Katherine Russell on January 19, 1991, in Imlay City, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine, on September 22, 2017.
He was employed as a semi-truck driver by Nutrien AG Solutions (formerly Crop Production Services) out of Brown City, MI, hauling fertilizer and peat before retiring.
Fred enjoyed hunting, wood working, shopping for guns, and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his daughters, Janielle (Eric) Ryan of Elizabeth Town, KY and Paige (Kenny) Spears of Lake Orion, MI; father, Lloyd Ragatz; his sister, Terry Kunko of Marlette, MI and Florida; and his grandchildren, Brennan, Jaydan, Janessa, and Jaxson.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Ragatz; mother, Beatrice Ragatz-Louwsma; and his daughter, Danyahl McQueen.
The funeral service was held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
