Denise Scott, age 70, of Brown City, MI died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Denise Elaine Babcock was born March 27, 1953, in Almont, MI. She is the daughter of the late Philip and the late Elaine (Herbert) Babcock. She was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1972. Denise lived most of her life in the Imlay City area.
She was a machine operator for several years for both Hamill Seatbelt Manufacturing in Imlay City and for Imlay City Plastics; both are auto parts manufacturers. She enjoyed children, going to church, watching movies with friends, and laughing. She was a member of North Goodland Baptist Church.
Denise is survived by her daughter, Dawn Elaine Scott of Brown City, MI; son, Matthew (Lacey) Scott of Lum, MI; her grandson, Carter; brothers, Larry (Diane) Babcock of Lapeer, Allen (Jenny) Babcock of Macomb, Dennis (Barb) Babcock of Ypsilanti, and Rick (Jan) Babcock of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Elaine Babcock; and her sister, Tina Marie Gingerich.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at North Goodland Baptist Church, 3080 N. Van Dyke Road, Imlay City, MI. Officiating will be Keith Corbett and Pastor John Chippewa. Burial will be in Imlay Township Cemetery, Imlay City.
The family will be available for visitation 12 Noon-1 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at North Goodland Baptist Church.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
