Paul Michael Curzydlo passed away November 3, 2023. He was born January 12, 1955, the son of John and Berniece (Thomas) Curzydlo in St. Clair, MI. Paul was raised in Memphis and graduated in 1973 at the top of his class. He was also the Student Council President and captain of the varsity basketball team. Paul married his high school sweetheart Nancy Coyle on October 26, 1974, at St. Philips Catholic Church in Columbus.

They then moved to Almont to start a family. In 1976, he and his wife purchased our beloved local ice cream shop, known as Charlie Browns. Following several other business ventures, he became a proud member of the Skilled Laborer’s Union Local 1076, while working for the George W. Auch Company until his retirement in 2015. Paul was a community-minded business leader who was active with the Almont Jaycees and a member of the Knights of Columbus # 4556. He also served as the president of the Almont Youth Baseball League and coached both baseball and softball. He was the biggest fan of all his children and grandchildren’s sports and activities. He loved to camp with his family at Lakes of the North and was known for building the most amazing campfires.

He and his wife enjoyed road trips, especially those to see the beautiful fall colors. Paul loved the outdoors and loved bird watching. He was an avid movie watcher and made the best popcorn. He was the perfect host and loved to entertain his friends and family. Paul was a selfless man, always there to lend a hand to his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a Godfather to many who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy of Almont; beloved children Ivy (Dan) Jaroche of Lansing, Sara Curzydlo of Almont, Andrew (Sarah) Curzydlo of Huron, OH, Nicole (Brian) Plungis of Warren; loving grandchildren Samantha, Kayla, Trey, Blake, Garrett, and Annie; and Kozmo his best friend and companion. Also surviving him are his siblings Rosalie (Donald) Dobson of Romeo, Mary Konyha of Prudenville, Sylvia Burgeson of Romeo, Gloria Curzydlo of Romeo, John (Marilyn) Curzydlo of Sterling Heights and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edward Curzydlo and Margaret DeBaene.

Memorial Visitation at the Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, with a Rosary said.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist – Allenton.

A Funeral Luncheon will follow back at the Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
