Joy E. Johnson, 80, of Almont, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at The Orchards in Armada. She was born July 26, 1943, in Lake City, TN the daughter of Sam and Edith (Duff) Strong. She married Robert Johnson on June 6, 1959.
She worked for L & L Products for 36 years until she retired to care for her great granddaughter. Joy loved spending time with her family and would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it as long as she wasn’t cold. She also loved her dog Sweetie Pie.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Debbie Rick of Harrison Twp, Donna (Dennis) Deblauwe of Riley Twp., Julie (Lisa) Hartsock of Winchester, IN and Robert Johnson of Almont; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is sister Naomi White of Rocky Top, TN and brother-in-law Jim (Cheri) Johnson of Almont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Strong, Joe Strong and Tommy Strong; sisters, Ludy Daugherty, Judy Buell and Helen Strong; and brother-in-law Doug (Phyllis) Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
