Bruce “Moose” Heline, age 79 of Metamora, MI passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Bruce Wayne Heline was born June 16, 1944, in Pontiac, MI. He is the son of Joseph and Bessie (Grable) Heline. Moose grew up and attended school in Pontiac, MI. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1961 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. Bruce married Sylvia Sanday on September 20, 1985 in Rochester, MI. Bruce and Sylvia moved to the Metamora area in the mid 1990s. He was predeceased in death by his wife Syliva on March 5, 2018.
Bruce was employed as a Fork-Lift and Overhead Crane Operator by General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davison motorcycles. Moose raised cattle and horses. He enjoyed helping on the Zehr farm.
Bruce is survived by daughters, Julie Moore of Metamora, Rachel DaTar of St. Clair Shores; son, Bruce (Crystal) Heline, Jr. of Lapeer; grandchildren, Mistie Black, Vicki Fritch, Bruce Heline, Dylan Anderson, Beau DaTar, Cassidy Hansen and Macy Hansen; great grand children, Noah, Carson, Summer, Tucker, Sterling, Teagan, Aleigha, Stella, Shyann, Sofiya and Kenzley.
The Funeral Service was held Friday, November 3, 2023, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Interment of Moose’s ashes will take place at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City.
