Jimmie Earl Henderson, aged 84, passed away peacefully in Lake Worth, FL on Monday, October 16, 2023, in the loving care of his daughter and son-in-law after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

Born in Kentucky on June 29, 1939, to Joseph and Claudine Henderson, Jimmie’s life was marked by a deep dedication to his family, education, faith, and community.

He was a proud alumnus of Southwestern High School in Detroit, MI, where he graduated in 1957. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at Wayne State University in Detroit, and later, he attended Murray State College, from which he graduated with a degree in pharmacy. His career as a pharmacist spanned 50 years–most of those years as the owner of Henderson Pharmacy in Almont, MI–a testament to his commitment to helping others.

In 1955, Jimmie met the love of his life, Carol, and they were united in marriage on September 19, 1964. They shared 52 loving years together until Carol’s passing in 2017. Their love brought their daughter, Stacey, into the world in 1970.

Jim’s life took a profound turn when, after careful study of the Bible, he dedicated himself to serving Jehovah his God on July 19, 2014, and remained steadfast in his faith until the end. He cherished the hope the Bible offered–a promise of living forever in perfect conditions on Earth and an end to sickness and death (Revelation 21:3-4).

Jim was not only a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle but also a friend to all. Many knew him as “Uncle Jim” and “Grandpa Jim” because of his welcoming and friendly nature. Laughter and joy followed him wherever he went, and it could genuinely be said that he never met a stranger.

In addition to his daughter, Stacey (Aaron) Sills , Jimmie is survived by his granddaughter, Aislinn Sills, and his sister, Glenda Ferraro, along with her children, Michelle (Michael) Piel and Gary (Michelle) Ferraro . He is also survived by numerous dear cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In accordance with Jimmie’s wishes, the family will be holding a private memorial service to celebrate his life and say their goodbyes. They kindly ask for your understanding and respect for their privacy during this time.

Jimmie’s whole family finds solace in the promise of a future reunion, as stated in John 5:28-29. They will undoubtedly rejoice when they see him again in the promised resurrection.
