Dryden’s Brenden Peter helped his team to a second at regionals.

TRI-CITY AREA — The Dryden boys’ cross country team earned a second-place finish at a Division 4 regional last Saturday.

Wagener County Park, in Harbor Beach, is where the meet unfolded.

Harbor Beach (54 points), Dryden (84) and Mayville (94) occupied the top-three spots at meet’s end.

Capac also competed, but did not field a complete squad.

The top-three schools move on to the Division 4 state finals set for this Saturday at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Their race starts at 10:50 a.m.

Aiden Fitchett, second, 16:36.38; led Dryden that day. The Cardinals also counted results from Noah Hall, 15th, 17:53.23; Logan Romain, 16th, 17:59.54; Connor Wolff, 21st, 18:21.33; and Brendan Peter, 40th, 19:48.83.

Donovan Glasgow, 35th, 19:32.38; paced Capac. Nathan Hiller, 68th, 23:55.46; also represented the Chiefs.
