REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 19, 2023
SYNOPSIS
President Schneider called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Councilmembers present were Dyke, Feldman, Glasser, Kuligowski, Powell, Steffler and Schneider. Staff members present were Village Manager David Trent, Clerk/Treasurer Kimberly Keesler and Police Chief Andrew Martin.
Approved the agenda; approved the consent agenda with corrections; approved the purchase of the Fairbanks pump for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the amount of $13,251; approved to adopt Ordinance No. 180.2, Planning Commission Ordinance Amendment, as written and presented for second reading; consensus of Council to table the first reading of the ordinance in order to get opinions of food truck vendors, to speak with business owner who currently has a food truck and to see the application form and procedure; approved to go into closed session in accordance with Section 8 (a) and 8 (e) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act, being Public Act 267 of 1976, to conduct an evaluation of Manager Trent’s performance and to consult with an attorney regarding settlement strategy in connection with Civil Action No. 21-12045, Laura Black v. Almont Village; approved to authorize staff to respond to the carrier’s designated settlement offer; approved to extend Manager Trent’s contract for an additional year commencing on September 8, 2023.
