Tommy Stalker, age 68, of Imlay City, MI, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at United Hospice Service of Marlette, MI. Tommy was born July 19, 1955, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the son of Luceine Sr. and Alice (Hewitt) Stalker. Being the son of a career Air Force veteran, in his youth he grew up living in South Carolina, Italy, Massachusetts and Michigan. He graduated from North Branch High School. Tommy married the love of his life, Terrie Lynne (Benson) Zappella on February 27, 1993, in Lapeer, MI. Tommy worked for his parents at Stalker & Sons Greenhouse, and construction with his brother Lou for many years before deciding to go into healthcare as a CNA and then moving on to his career serving Lapeer County for 33 years as a First Responder and Paramedic. He retired from Lapeer County EMS in December 2019. As a believer in “community and helping” he spent many hours volunteering for Stone Soup, Manna Ministries, FFA and Boy Scout Troop 127. Tommy had a dream to build a place where the community in need could come and work and learn how to grow and process their own food. He loved spending time with his family, reading, drawing, wood working and being creative. Tommy had a heart of gold and would give of himself without expecting anything in return. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank all those at the United Hospice Service who cared for and helped Tommy pass peacefully.

Tommy is survived by his children, Christiana (Jaason) Bishop of Attica, MI and Benjamin (Rachel) Stalker of Millington, MI; stepdaughters, Nicola Mason of Imlay City, MI and Heather (Rick) Guerrero of Imlay City, MI; and his sister, Terry (Fred) Neal of Arizona.
