Loretta “Jane” Blanchard, age 90, of Imlay City, MI died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Serene Gardens Assisted Living in Imlay City surrounded by her family. Loretta Jane Mohon was born November 22, 1932, in Greenville, KY. She is the daughter of the late Irvin and the late Virginia (Duke) Mohon. Jane grew up in Detroit, MI. She is a graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI. She married Bennie Gene Blanchard on November 24, 1951, in Detroit. Jane and Gene lived in Mio, MI from 1988-2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, in 2011. Jane moved to Imlay City in 2011.
She was a homemaker, raising her family.
Through the years, Jane attended Faith Baptist Church of Davison, Mio Baptist Church, and Temple Baptist Church in Detroit. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible.
She is survived by: her daughter, Jena (Jim) Strom of Imlay City; son, Dennis (Linda) Blanchard of Troy; her grandchildren, Scott (Karen) Blanchard, Bryant (Jessica) Blanchard, Adam (Hollie) Blanchard, Jason (Amy) Strom, Jonathon (Ellen) Strom, and Judith (Kenneth) McBrayer; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Blanchard; son, Todd Alan Blanchard; and her brothers, Howard Mohon and Murriel Mohon.
The funeral service was held Monday, October 16, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church of Davison, 7306 E. Atherton Road, Davison, MI. Pastor Shawn Kook, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Davison, and Pastor Scott Alan Blanchard, officiated. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, MI.
