John “Junior” Thomas Grzyb Jr., 74, of Capac, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at McLaren Macomb Hospital, Mount Clemens.
He was born November 24, 1948, in Almont, the son of the late John Thomas and Julia (Arnold) Grzyb.
He married Sandra Hagerty March 26, 1971, in San Diego, California.
John served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971.
John worked as an electrician for the former Port Huron Hospital for 30+ years. He was a very active member of the Capac Historical Society and was the Capac Village President for 8 years from 2014 to 2022. John loved attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events to cheer them on. His greatest joy in life was being a dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sandra are three children, Kathy (Rob) Churchill of St. Clair, Nancy (Robert) Kaminski of Attica and John (Gena) of Imlay City; grandchildren, Hilary, Courtney, Seth, Cory, Kaylee, Mary, Colton, Mason and Robbie; and two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Asher.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina June Grzyb.
The family honored the memory of John Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services began at 7 p.m. Rev. David Webb officiated. Private family burial was in Capac Cemetery, Mussey Township.
