Michael “Mike” Chase, 62, of Brown City passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at his home.
Michael was born on June 3, 1961, to the late LeRoy and Sharon (Brace) Chase Hayward. He was the oldest of four children. Michael attended Brown City High School and graduated with the class of 1979. He was a foreman at Scotts Miracle-Gro from the time he was 18. Michael married Katherine Strong on May 18, 1985. He was a Brown City resident his entire life. Michael enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and was an avid college football fan. He loved being around his family the most.
Michael is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Katherine; children, Brandon Chase, Nick Chase and Katelin (Steven) Risdon; grandchildren, Chase and Ellie Risdon; siblings, Royleen (Jim) Essad and Renee Hayward; step-father, Ron Hayward; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Brenda.
A funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Marsh Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jerry Griggs officiating.
Michael will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Brown City, Michigan
