ALMONT — The Almont girls’ golf team took fourth place Monday at a Division 4 regional.

Washtenaw Golf Club, in Ypsilanti, is where the action unfolded.

Ann Arbor Greenhills (358), St. Mary Catholic Central (395) and St, Catherine of Siena Academy (395) occupied the top-three places at day’s end.

They advance to the Division 4 state finals at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek set for October 20-21.

Almont (399), Royal Oak Shrine (414), Lutheran Northwest (450), Academy of the Sacred Heart (457), Petersburg Summerfield (499) held down places three through eight.

Austin Catholic, Clawson Plymouth Christian Academy and Taylor Trilium Academy also competed but did not field complete squads.

Jesse Kautz led Almont with a 91 over 18 holes. Kautz’s performance enabled her to qualify individually for the upcoming state finals.

Rachael Johnson (100) posted the next best Almont total. The Raiders also counted Olivia Kotelnicki’s 101 and Tara Tencza’s 107.
