Dale Watz, age 84, of Attica / Lum, Michigan died Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home with his family at his side. John Dale Watz was born July 15, 1939, in Lum, MI. He is the son of the late John and the late Clara Mae (Stover) Watz. Dale grew up and lived most of his life in the Attica/ Lum, MI area. He is a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1957. Dale married Beverly Keesler on September 25, 1965, in Brown City, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, in 2014.
He was employed in Quality Control and Vehicle Delivery by General Motors-Pontiac Motors in Pontiac, MI for 33+ years before retiring. Dale also had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Holloway Road Construction for nine years.
Dale attended West Goodland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls and Detroit Tiger’s baseball games with his son, Craig. He liked going deer hunting in the Grayling and Lum, MI areas and golfing at the Lum International Golf Course (now Castle Creek).
Dale is survived by his son, Craig Watz of Attica, MI; brother, Jimmy Watz, of Lum, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Watz; brothers, Jack (Merle) Watz, Winnie (Ethel) Watz, Glenn (Jean) Watz, Basil (Dora) Watz; and his sister-in-law, Gwen Watz.
The Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Jerry Schriber will officiate. Interment will follow at Arcadia Township Cemetery. The family will be available for visiting hours from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, October 12 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
