SEPTEMBER 5, 2023
SYNOPSIS
President Schneider called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Councilmembers present were Dyke, Feldman, Glasser, Kuligowski, Powell, Steffler and Schneider. Staff members present were Village Manager David Trent, Clerk/Treasurer Kimberly Keesler and Attorney Brandon Fournier.
Approved the agenda with the addition of Regular Agenda #4, DDA Road Closure Request; approved the consent agenda with corrections; approved to select a member of Council, yet to be determined, as a delegate and an alternate for the Michigan Municipal League conference in Traverse City October 18th through 20th; consensus of Council to hold a first reading of Ordinance #207.1, amendment to the Village Fireworks Ordinance #207, as presented; approved to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding regarding Article XX Wages and Salary Schedule entered into on August 16, 2023; approved to close the streets that were requested, with the caveat that Mill Street be closed until midnight on Saturday, September 16; approved to go into closed session in accordance with Section 8(E) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act, being Public Act 267 of 1976, to consult with an attorney regarding settlement strategy in connection with Civil Action No. 21-12045, Laura Black v. Almont Village.
