William Leonard Schultz, 74, of Emmett Township, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.

He was born August 31, 1949, in Brown City, the son of the late Leonard and Lois (Behnke) Schultz.

His marriage to Kay Ferriby was October 28, 1968, in Tennessee.

Bill was employed with Ford Motor Company for 47 years before his retirement in 2016. He was a lifelong area farmer. He was well known for his 25+ years of coaching the Capac High School girls’ Softball Team. Bill loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. If he wasn’t with them, he made sure to call them to check in every single day. In his free time, Bill enjoyed hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife Kay of 55 years are three daughters, Brenda (Jeff Tindall) Parker of Mussey Township, Sheila Schultz of Emmett, and Rebecca Thomas of Emmett; nine grandchildren, Morgan Dodds, Cody Parker, Hannah King, Cass Parker, Ryan Dodds, Connor Parker, Isabella Dawood, Cameron Wilson and Maverick Thomas; great-grandson, Jackson Burns; brother, Randy (Linda) Schultz; niece and nephews, Adrienne, Will, and Mike; great-nephews, Little Will and Brenden, as well as many cousins and friends.

The family honors the memory of Bill and invites you to visit and share memories Friday, September 29, 2023, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be 11a.m. Saturday with 10 a.m. visiting. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Mussey Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Lady Chiefs Softball Scholarship.
